CEO & Founder
Vanessa is the founder and CEO of 2xceptional, bringing over 17 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist specializing in language-based learning disorders, stuttering, apraxia, and executive functioning. Her personal experience with speech, language, and learning challenges fuels her commitment to creating equitable educational opportunities for all students — particularly those from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Vanessa has worked extensively with public schools to improve services for low-income and neurodiverse students and has served as a Medicaid provider and ASHA liaison to Colorado Health Care Policy and Finance. Her expertise in developing and implementing targeted, evidence-based interventions and her dedication to educational equity have made her a recognized leader in the field.
Diagnosed with multiple language and learning disorders as a child, Vanessa faced an education system that often overlooked her needs. Guided by a mother who fought for her right to comprehensive support, she overcame these challenges through perseverance and specialized interventions. That experience drives everything she does — ensuring every child, regardless of their learning challenges, gets the support they deserve.
Vanessa is a dedicated mentor who empowers speech-language pathologists, assistants, and educators to better serve students with language-based learning disorders. She provides guidance rooted in the neurobiological basis of these disorders, equipping practitioners with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to make a meaningful impact on every learner they support.
Speech-language pathology and language-based learning disorders are what we do — not one service on a long menu. That's what separates us from a neuropsychologist, a special educator, or a tutor: we start with a real evaluation, not a guess, and build the plan from what we actually find, in a way that matches how your child learns.
We'd rather name a diagnosis precisely than talk around it. And because you're trusting us with your kid, every person on our team has been through a background check before they ever sit down with a family — no exceptions.
Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for speech disorders, language disorders, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties — the full range, under one roof.
Before we treat anything, we find out exactly what's going on. Our evaluation process is thorough by design, so the plan that follows is built on a real understanding of your child, not a checklist.
Every therapist here brings real depth of experience, not just a credential. We hire people we'd want working with our own kids — and every one of them has passed a background check.
This list is not exhaustive — reach out if you don't see your child's diagnosis.
